Terms of service
Version 1.1, published August 2026. These terms are written in plain language and deliberately grant more than the minimum. They are under professional review and will be updated; any change applies to bookings made after it is published, never retrospectively.
Who you are contracting with
Harvardbridge Automotives is a business name of Harvardbridge Pty Ltd, ABN 37 652 613 708. Your contract is with that company — it is named here, in the privacy policy and on every quote and tax invoice, which is where it is required.
These terms apply to business and fleet customers on the same footing as private customers. Where a fleet arrangement adds anything — purchase orders, monthly invoicing, agreed rates — it is written into that arrangement and does not take anything away from what is on this page.
Quotes
- A quote is valid for the period shown on it.
- An estimate produced by the website calculator is not a quote. Only a written, numbered quote is.
- A quote is based on the vehicle size and condition you described.
If the vehicle is materially different when we arrive — heavier contamination than described, undisclosed damage, an interior that changes the work — we will stop, show you what we have found, and give you three options. You choose:
- we carry out the quoted scope at the quoted price, and tell you plainly what will not be achievable within it; or
- we requote the larger scope for you to accept or decline before any extra work starts; or
- you cancel on the spot at no charge, and any deposit is returned in full.
Nothing is added to your invoice that you have not agreed to first. We do not decide for you which of those three happens.
What we need on site
Safe, legal access to the vehicle, and enough space to work around it. Where you have told us there is water, power or cover, we rely on that when planning the job.
If the site turns out to be unworkable on arrival — no access, not enough room, or a carpark the van cannot enter — we will look for a workable spot nearby with you first. If there is nowhere, we rebook you and there is no charge. We do not charge a call-out fee, an attendance fee or a failed-visit fee, and none of our prices contain one.
Where the work is on strata or private property, you confirm you are entitled to have it carried out there.
Keys and custody of the vehicle
We work on the vehicle where it stands. We need the keys only to move it a short distance on the same site, open panels, or run the electrics, and only while we are there. We do not drive your vehicle on a road, we do not take it away, and we do not keep the keys overnight. If a job needs the vehicle moved further than that, we ask you first.
The limits of what detailing can do
- Machine correction removes clear coat, which is finite. We take depth readings and work within what the panel can safely give up.
- Scratches deeper than the clear coat cannot be removed safely. We identify these before starting.
- Existing damage — failing clear coat, previous repairs, aftermarket paint, stone chips, cracked trim — may be revealed or may not survive the process. We inspect and tell you where we see risk before starting.
- Protection products improve resistance and ease of maintenance. They do not make paint scratch-proof and they are not permanent.
This section describes what the work can physically achieve. It is not a limitation of your rights, and nothing in it reduces what we owe you if the work is not carried out with due care and skill.
Your consumer rights
Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies those guarantees, and nothing on this website should be read as attempting to.
If something is not right, tell us. We would far rather come back and fix it.
If we damage your vehicle
Tell us as soon as you notice it. Telling us later does not cost you anything — this is a request so we can put it right quickly, not a deadline, and it does not affect your rights.
We will come and look at it, and where the damage was caused by our work we will arrange the repair and pay for it. We will not argue the point over something we did.
Insurance
We carry public liability insurance. If you are a business or fleet customer and need a certificate of currency before we attend your site, ask and we will send it.
Payment
Invoices are due within 7 days of the work being completed, unless your quote says otherwise. Bank transfer and PayID carry no surcharge. Where a card surcharge applies, it reflects only the actual cost to us of accepting that card and it is shown before you pay.
We do not charge interest, late fees or debt-recovery costs on an overdue invoice. If one goes past its date we call you.
Business and fleet accounts can be invoiced monthly against a purchase order by arrangement.
Personal property
Please remove valuables and personal items before we start — it lets us work properly and it means nothing of yours is handled unnecessarily. Anything we find is left in the centre console or the glovebox and pointed out to you at handover. We do not dispose of anything from inside a vehicle without asking you first.
This is a request, not a disclaimer. It does not reduce our responsibility for your property while we are working on the vehicle.
Changes to these terms
We may update this page. Any change applies only to bookings made after the new version is published — never to a booking you have already made, and never to a quote already issued to you. The version and date are at the top of this page.
Where disputes are dealt with
These terms are governed by the law of Queensland, Australia. If you live in another state, nothing here prevents you from bringing a claim where you live.
